What are some challenges you’ve faced as a woman in ad tech, and how have you overcome them?

Shiyang: While acknowledging the myriad of challenges encountered by many women in the field, I’m particularly grateful that I’ve experienced a relatively fair and friendly environment for female employees in my journey so far, especially at AlgoriX. Having worked in this industry for over 5 years, I haven’t encountered any situations specifically targeting my identity as a woman. Instead, I’ve received a lot of care and guidance, which empowered me to achieve both personal and work goals.

Cindy: In the tech industry, women are still underrepresented, which can occasionally cast doubts on our abilities. To tackle this, I’ve focused on honing my professional skills and knowledge, while also showcasing my confidence and leadership in my work. I’ve earned the respect of my colleagues and superiors through my tangible contributions and results. I’m fortunate to have spent nearly 8 years in this team without encountering any gender bias from my peers or superiors. Our collaborations have consistently been positive and enjoyable.

Huyen: As a woman in the ad tech industry, striking a healthy work-life balance has been a primary challenge for me. However, I am fortunate to be part of AlgoriX, a company that prioritizes flexibility in the global workspace. The adoption of flexible and hybrid working models as permanent solutions has made handling personal and professional commitments far more manageable. This approach not only benefits individuals but also retains more women in the sector by providing the support they need to excel.

Icey: The discussion regarding women’s roles and positions in the tech industry has always been a subject of considerable interest. While it’s true that the tech world was initially male-dominated, as time has passed, women have stepped in, bringing a fresh wave of diversity and innovation. Women are now stepping up and playing increasingly significant roles. I’m truly grateful that at Algorix, my gender hasn’t been a barrier. Quite the opposite, my leaders have given me ample opportunities to develop my skills and grow. I’m particularly thrilled to be part of the Algorix family, where I can shine and contribute to the best of my abilities.

Could you share any projects or accomplishments you’re particularly proud of?

Shiyang: In 2023, I led the team’s smooth and successful transition towards a privacy-first future by strengthening and improving our efforts towards data security and privacy. As a result, we were able to comply with IAB Europe’s Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) v2.2 updates ahead of schedule, signed the IAB’s Multi-State Privacy Agreement in the United States, while also actively deploying support for the Global Privacy Platform (GPP) framework. All these efforts played a key role in AlgoriX’s expansion and growth, especially in the European market, delivering a significant impact to AlgoriX’s revenue growth in 2023.

Cindy: It’s an honor to have had the opportunity to contribute significantly to the design and development of AlgoriX’s advertising product solutions. While challenging, building our advertising solutions have been incredibly fulfilling. Though we haven’t formally rolled it out yet, I’m excited to see how it will inject fresh momentum into our company’s growth. I’m proud of our team’s ongoing evolution and I’m excited for the growing number of customers who will come to appreciate and use our solutions.

Huyen: I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead the introduction of our product portfolio to the Vietnam market. My primary objective has always been to ensure our customers enjoy a seamless experience with our AlgoriX SDK and custom adapters for various mediations. This is in addition to other integration methods such as oRTB, Prebid, and VAST Tag. These tasks are not just part of my job; they represent consistent, daily processes to which I’ve been dedicated for many years. The success of our customers, which they achieve in tandem with us, brings me immense satisfaction and fuels my enthusiasm. This has been a longstanding project of mine here at AlgoriX.

Icey: It is indeed an honor to hold the position of Product Director for AlgoriX’s SaaS Solution, RixEngine, where I have been entrusted with the comprehensive management of SaaS projects. Together with my team, we have successfully built the platform from the ground up, while simultaneously nurturing a highly competent operations team. The clients we have integrated thus far have expressed significant appreciation for our product functionalities, technical support, and operational services. Furthermore, these clients continue to endorse our SaaS products within their networks. Rest assured, we remain committed to our mission of delivering increasingly superior product solutions and services to our clientele.

What advice would you give to young women who aspire to have a career in ad tech?

As you gain experience, start to focus on a niche within ad tech that aligns with your strengths and interests. This could be a specific technology, a particular type of advertising, or a certain market sector. It’s critical to lay a solid foundation, so work on building your core competencies in this chosen niche. Lastly, it’s also important to plan for the future. If you’re considering starting a family, think about how you can balance your career with your personal life.

Stay steadfast in chasing your goals, and be confident in your potential to succeed in the ad tech industry. Keep your passion for learning alive, constantly striving to boost your skills and knowledge.
