ChinaJoy in Shanghai 2025 | The AlgoriX Survival Guide

We have shown up at ChinaJoy for several years in a row. Each visit has taught us something new about heat, queues, and the need for a quiet place to talk business. After the hectic outing we decided to open a small retreat inside the venue. Last year that idea became the AlgoriX Chat & Chill Café, and it quickly turned into a favourite hangout for visitors who wanted coffee and focused conversations. With another show on the horizon, we have gathered every proven tip into an easy PDF and set aside even more seats in the café. The guide and this article will help you land in Shanghai ready for action.

Before You Fly: Solve the Big Stuff at Home

Everything here comes straight from the Survival Guide. Tackle these tasks at home and most show-day problems disappear.

Book your meetings early
ChinaJoy calendars fill up fast. So we suggest locking in about seventy percent of your schedule at least three weeks ahead. Leave the rest open for spontaneous booth visits and hallway introductions.

Go cashless
China runs on mobile payments. Follow the steps in our PDF to link an your card to Alipay or WeChat Pay, then run a one-yuan test purchase before you board the plane.

Pack light and smart
  • Quick-dry tees and one thin jacket for arctic metro air conditioning
  • A compact umbrella or rain poncho for sudden showers
  • Power bank with the red 3C mark — China’s mandatory battery-safety stamp; uncertified units are not allowed on domestic flights.
  • Electrolyte tablets, basic meds, and printed prescriptions in original bottles

All items sit in a one-screen checklist inside the guide, ready for a last-minute screenshot.

Touchdown Shanghai 🚆

From Pudong Airport (PVG)
Maglev to Longyang Road, then Metro Line 7 for one stop to Huamu Road. About thirty-five minutes in total.

From Hongqiao Airport (SHA)
Stay on Metro Line 2 to Longyang Road, change to Line 7, and travel one more stop.

Where to stay
  • Huamu and Century Park close enough for an easy walk to the halls
  • Lujiazui and Century Avenue one metro stop away with many hotels
  • The Bund or People’s Square direct ride of six stops and great evening views

Late July heat hovers around thirty-six degrees Celsius with high humidity and short afternoon rain. Light layers and a folding fan will make queues easier.
